Scottish Cup/Playoffs
In an attempt to more closely follow the format of the top floorball leagues around Europe, the Northern League introduced a playoff system. This system was not used to decide the league champions this season but will instead be used as the format for the Scottish Cup.
The play-offs took place on the 12th April 2009 with the top four teams from the league competing in two semi-finals before a 3rd place play-off and final to decide the Scottish Cup champions.
The bottom three teams also took part in a round-robin tournament for a plate trophy.

Winter Cup
The Winter Cup took place on Sunday 11th January 2009 with Chapel victorious. The format consisted of two round-robin groups with the top two teams fighting out the final and the two second placed sides contesting the 3rd place play-off.Final
